Since 2001 the Dakota SWCD has hosted local fifth grade classrooms for Outdoor Education Days in mid-September. After not being held the past two years, this year’s class is back and getting the chance to experience a 220-acre native prairie ecosystem while traveling between hands-on, educational stations. The students learn about water quality, soil, agriculture, insects, and prairie plants from a host of experts, and experience a trail through the tall grass of the prairie. The Dakota SWCD is looking forward to hosting close to one-thousand students from eight different schools!
