(Populus tremuloides)

  • 50-60 year lifespan. Rounded crown has brilliant fall color. Smooth, soft, thin, peeling, greenish to grayish white bark. Lateral roots can extend for 100 ft, and sinkers in excess of 9 ft.
  • 16 -100 ft. Mature Height
  • Full sun. Shade intolerant.
  • Disturbed soils, away from structures.
  • Provides good visual screening and noise abatement. More ground water recharge than conifer forests. Protects against soil erosion. Used in restoration of riparian habitats.
  • Provides food and habitat for a variety of wildlife
